Born and raised in Porto, David Moreira's path is inexorably linked to the sounds of the city. Having been exposed to electronic music at a young age, it was only natural that he went on to frequent such venues and events such as 31, Gare or NEOPOP. It was a quick journey from bedroom to the world as he gathered support from many of the artists who worked and elevated the night scene in his hometown. With residencies at Plano B and Industria, he went from being an observer to being observed, and his performances, somewhere between deep house and dub techno, were groomed alongside some of his greatest influences, from Francesco del Garda and Rui Vargas to Paquita Gordon and Josh Wink.
A highly respected member of the Portuguese electronic scene, Nuno Carneiro has just returned home from a long stint at the well-known resort town Tulum, where he promoted some of the most memorable parties in the small Mexican municipality. The good news are that he is about to launch a series of releases on his own Apolo Records with music from Wareika, Snad and Dan Ghenacia - “the result of an important maturation and musical re-focus”, he says. At its core, Nuno Carneiro’s music tells a story of an intense and restless character, very much linked to the spirit of house and techno.
